Twitter GIF downloader FAQ

How do I download a GIF from Twitter?+

Copy the link of the post with the GIF (Share, then Copy link), paste it above and press Find GIF, then Download GIF. It saves to your phone or computer.

Why is my Twitter GIF an MP4 file?+

X stores every GIF as a short MP4 video, so that is the original file. MP4 GIFs are much smaller, look sharper and loop in most apps, including WhatsApp, Telegram and Slack.

Can I get a .gif file instead of MP4?+

Not yet. This tool gives you the original file X stores, which is MP4. Any video-to-GIF converter can turn it into a .gif if an app needs that format.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?+

Yes, in any browser with no app or extension to install. On iPhone, the file goes to the Files app (Downloads); from there you can save it to Photos.

Is it free? Do I need an account?+

Yes, it is free with no account, no daily limit and no watermark. It works for posts from public accounts.
