Senko Span B (SSB) This is the sixth thread from the Ichimoku series. Here I will cover SSB. 🧵👇

/6 Basics ➡️Meaning: Long term support/resistance. On an uptrend, bottom of the cloud and on a downtrend, top of the cloud. SSB is considered the ultimate support/resistance in the Ichimoku system. Once the price closes below it we can't talk about an uptrend anymore - and vice versa. 🧮 Formula: The average of the max and min value of the past 52 candles shifted 26 candles in the future. 📔 Readings: Most readings are related to the cloud in combination with SSA. SSB sounds similar to SSA but they are different lines in nature. SSB is a Han-ne line like Tenkan Sen and Kijun Sen because they are calculated from the medium values of the highs and lows of the price. SSA is quite unique because it's based on the average of Kijun Sen and Tenkan Sen.

/6 🎢 Slope: Being the longest S/R level SSB is the slowest and hardest line to move. 📈📉On an trend it's fine for it to be flat if SSA and KS are trending. 📈If it moves in the direction of the trend, it's a strong sign the long term trend is active. 📉If it moves against the direction of the trend, that's a huge red flag for the trend.

/6 Strength From an absolute point of view, SSB is the strongest support/resistance. Stronger than Kijun Sen, as it is based on a longer period. But on the other side, as part of the kumo (cloud), it's strength depends also on the thickness of the kumo. As mentioned in the SSA lesson, the thicker the kumo, the stronger support or resistance it provides. And the thinner it is, the easiest it is not only to be penetrated, but even completely crossed by the price.

/6 🚦 Signals: Kumo twist with SSA 🐂 When SSA crosses above SSB, this is called a bullish kumo twist. It means that there is a bullish shift in the long term trend. 🐼 When SSA crosses below SSB, this is called a bearish kumo twist. It means that there is a bearish shift in the long term trend. ⚠️ Attention! As SSB and SSA are printed in the future, when their signal flashes and produces a kumo twist, the price is 26 candles in the past on a completely different place at the kumo time-wise. If the price is at a point with a kumo twist, this twist is completely irrelevant and is NOT a signal as it has already flashed in the past.
