  1. Forecast lines 🧵👇 [Ichimoku Thread #10]

  2. 1/8 🫴📈We all know how PA traders like to draw lines on the chart on past candles to get an idea of support and resistance levels. 🔮 Ichimoku, based on its unique ability "to look 26 candles in the future" provides an interesting alternative to this, called "forecast lines".

  3. 2/8 Forecast lines are trend lines drawn from a key low or high to SSB or SSA in the future. You can think of a forecast line as a key support/resistance which if hold or not the trend can continue or reverse. 2⃣6⃣Because, as we know SSB and SSA are printed 26 candles in the future. As these lines are support/resistance levels where an invalidation may occur they obviously may be used for trend entries as well.

  4. 3/8 ❓How to draw forecast lines, for example to SSB? 1⃣ Identify a key swing low/high 2⃣ Calculate where was SSB at the point when this low was printed on the chart If you have a paid TradingView subscription you can use the replay function to get to this candle and it will show you how the kumo in the future looked at this time. 📽️This video shows how to do that with the Replay button which is the easier option. And you can see how the drawn line offered support for a bounce of the price inside the kumo. 🫴This "invisible" level actually was there, projected in advance by this drawing technique:

  5. 4/8 2⃣6⃣If you don't have a paid subscription, you must calculate where was SSA/SSB 26 candles in the future from this low/high. ⚠️You can do this with the Date Range tool but you must start counting one candle EARLIER than the key low/high because TradingView counts the current candle as 0, but Ichimoku counts it as 1:

  6. 5/8 ❓You may be wondering: what is the utility of a line which we need to go back so deep in the future to see something which has already happened? Please note that in this case I'm showing a relatively old example and need to go that back. But normally you just need to identify a recent swing high/low and draw from it. 📚And by definition, a swing high/low is a high surrounded by two lower highs on each side or a low surrounded by two higher lows on each side. So even in this case you need to wait a bit 2-3 candles to see whether a low is forming.

  7. 6/8 📽️This video shows two forecast lines: The first one held and the downtrend continued. The second one didn't hold and the trend reversed. 📈📉Of course also keep in mind that even though in that case a downtrend directly reversed to an uptrend, the market cant not only trend, it can also range. So a broken forecast line doesn't mean directly start of opposite trend but rather at least a temporary invalidation of the current one:

  8. 7/8 This thread covered Ichimoku's forecast lines. I almost don't use them but they represent part of Ichimoku's Theory and must be kept in mind as a powerful tool which surpasses the potential of traditional trend lines. If you found this thread useful please share it so it can reach more people.

XRPBtC didn’t lose 2041 June close. Is this good news ?

If you want strict confirmation it held support at the last moment so you don't have official lost of support But if you care about my humble gut feeling it tells me things will turn bad because the price is too weak and already looking bad on lower timeframes

Not financial advice don’t worry but if you held a bag, would you consider taking some profits now especially if your entry is about $0.4

Rather hedging with shorts
