【🧵LONG Thread🧵】 I'm sorry if this is an exhausted topic...but you do NOT need custom music videos/instrumentals to be a successful youtaite or vsinger. I want to be your encouragement and proof that it's possible with out those things. I started from 0. #vsinger #youtaite

I started out in 2018 with a shitty microphone and audacity. I had no clue how to mix, I had no clue how to do anything, no money, but I learned myself through tutorials. I posted classic cover videos with the original mv layered on top and they would barely reach 100 views-

I felt pretty alone in what I did, so I spent time on twitter finding and supporting other small youtaite, and in turn, naturally they would support me. Making these beautiful connections and friendships would be the most important and essential thing when it came to-

growing as an artist. I started to get opportunities from friends, and landed my first gig with @DjJoMusic thanks to @_Hiragaa when I only had like 500 subscribers😭. I was by no means a great singer at all back then, but I was so grateful to be given this chance.

Because of that, I got a bit more eyes on my channel. In 2022, 4 years from when I started, I hit 2000 subscribers!!! This was such a big deal for me...despite only posting covers with the original mv...and still do to this day 😭 I thought wow...is this really possible?!

I continued to post covers semi-consistantly, connecting with new singer friends which eventually got me new gigs, and them new gigs as well!!! With some saved up pocket change I did some custom MVs as well..but honestly...they did worse than my covers with the original video😭

Not only did they do worse, but I sank money into something that wouldn't get me anything back. I thought the same thing "surely this will do better!!" but it didnt. From this point on I just used the original MV for most things, and my channel kept growing and growing.

My cover "oyasumination" at the time of uploading was a song that only had 500 views. I covered it because I loved it, and didn't expect anything out of it, but it became one of the most loved/most viewed covers on my channel.

Of course, overtime, there were things I realized "if I sang this song...it probably would do well right?! its popular." Such is the nature of the algorithm but when I say being consistant, making friends, and promoting yourself is more important...It really is..

I have 80k subscribers now, grown so much and I'm so grateful. My covers do so well and they just have the original MV slapped on it 😭. I worked my ass off for 8 years, I do everything myself. Singing, mixing, encoding, promotion, upload. I love it so much.

I started out making 0 money from this. I mean I am using someones content after all...And buying custom instrumentals to upload for streaming is expensive. That's why I set up a patreon, started doing commissions so I can make this a living.

Thanks to patreon and all my lovely supporters ( i love you all SO MUCH)I can afford to commission instrumentals and MV's but they arent a necessity. It took me awhile to get here, but I'm happy to say I can actually make a decentish living out of this although its a hussle ;v;

People want to support good people. Be a loud and positive voice to those around you, make friends! Share their covers! Ask for collabs, not out of business relationships, but because you genuinally want to be friends.

Build connections with your audience overtime and with your friends, support them with everything you can. Promote yourself everywhere. If you dont know how to mix,and dont have money to commission, then learn it yourself as I did-

If you find yourself making excuses for everything: why you're not successful, why you arent popular yet, why you arent making money...do you truly love this art enough? Why are you doing this? It's hard work, but if you love it, it wont feel like work!!!

Success doesn't come over night...it takes hard work, and im still trying to aim even higher. I never imagined I'd be in the place I am now. Use your anger and frustration as fuel to try even harder at what you love. I told myself "I'll make this work even if it kills me"-

Never giving up is your path to success. Making excuses, passing blame, then giving up wont get you anywhere. ITS NOT EASY at all!! its a tough fucking world out here, but I will NEVER EVER say I'm 'lucky". I worked so hard to get here and I want you to do that too.
