How to Export Twitter (X) Bookmarks (Free)

By Jemish Moradiya•November 6, 2026•4 min read

X doesn't have an export button for bookmarks. To export your Twitter bookmarks, import them into a free SaveFlow library with its browser extension, then download them as a CSV spreadsheet, a JSON file or Markdown files. It takes a few minutes and costs nothing.

Export Twitter bookmarks in four steps

  1. Add the SaveFlow extension. Install the free SaveFlow extension for Chrome (it also works in Brave, Arc and Edge) and sign in with a free account.
  2. Import your X bookmarks. Open the extension and choose Import X bookmarks. It opens your Bookmarks on X and scrolls through them, saving each post with its text, author, images and date.
  3. Let it finish. Keep the tab open until the import says it's done. You can pause or stop it; running it again only brings over new bookmarks.
  4. Export. In SaveFlow, open Settings, then Data & export, and choose CSV (spreadsheet), JSON or a Markdown zip for Notion and Obsidian.

The extension is on the Chrome Web Store; the extension page explains exactly what it can and can't see. It only acts when you save something or start an import.

Which export format should you pick?

CSV (spreadsheet)

One row per bookmark: title, link, author, handle, folder, tags, your note, the dates and the post text. Open it in Excel, Google Sheets or Airtable to sort, filter or share.

JSON

The same fields as structured data, for scripts, databases or other apps.

Markdown (Notion and Obsidian)

A zip with one Markdown file per bookmark, organised by folder. Import it into Notion (Settings, Import, Text & Markdown) or unzip it into an Obsidian vault; each file keeps its author, source, dates and tags as front matter.

What gets exported

  • The post's text, author, date, link and images.
  • Long posts: X's Bookmarks list shows only the first part of a long post, so they arrive shortened and SaveFlow fills in the full text in the background while your library is open.
  • Threads and X Articles you save one by one come with every post or the full article.

FAQ

Are Twitter bookmarks private?

Yes. Only you can see what you bookmarked on X. An export stays on your device.

Does X's "Download an archive of your data" include bookmarks?

The archive is built around your own posts and account data. If you need your bookmarks as a list you can open, the import above is the dependable route.

Is it free?

Yes. The extension, the library and every export format are free, with no item limit.

Can I keep exporting as I bookmark more?

Yes. Run the import again any time; it stops when it reaches posts you already saved, so only new bookmarks come over. Then export again.

I only need one thread or article, not my bookmarks.

Use the free Twitter thread to PDF unroller or X Article to PDF; no account needed.
